You Have To Hear This Story!!!

Wednesday night on The Golf Show presented by Play Golf Alberta, we got you primed for your boys/girls golf trips this summer with a trip to Trickle Creek, congratulated one of the newest Canadian Tour pros and heard one of the best golf stories I've ever heard, which tied in with a Stanley Cup Playoff game.  You have to hear it.

We teed things off with Steven Lecuyer (@lecuyer111) who finished T15 at Canadian Tour Q school in San Jancinto, California last weekend and earned his full tour card at just 23 years old.  The Edmontonian said having his card in his back pocket made the multiple day drive back to the City of Champions a lot more bearable.  I'm really looking forward to following his career, especially this summer at his home course of the Windermere in the ATB Classic, presented by TELUS.

After playing Trestle Creek trivia and having Thomas correctly answer that David Hearn was the top Canadian at the Players, we took a trip to Kimberley and spoke with Matt Mosteller of the Trickle Creek Golf Resort, who told us what makes a good boys/girls trip.  It starts with location and gets better from there.  They are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and mountain golf is wonderful, so make sure it's on your list of course to play.  It's also conveniently located within a short drive of several other courses.

We wrapped things up in our 'Why do you play' segment, where we welcomed former NHLer Rob Brown to the tee box.  He started playing when he reached the NHL and is about a 5 handicap.  I'm envious because he doesn't practice or really even use the putting green before a round and he can shoot 72.  I'm also jealous of the 3 hilarious stories he told us. One involved a super star NHL teammate getting hit by a golf ball while playing with teammates during the playoffs, resulting in an injury. Another had playoff oppositions, pairing up in golf between games, and finally a story about a buddy driving a cart through a flower garden and ending up on the first tee with the Marshall.  Talk about Gold!!!!  This is a must listen segment.
